HR Advisor
Job Ref: HR | Location: Lodge Farm, NN5 | Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 | Position: Permanent
To support the Senior HR Manager in the day to day running of the HR Department (HR, Training, Payroll, H&S and Reception/Front of House) by providing a professional support service to the business in all aspects whilst ensuring the department is compliant with company policies and procedures and all relevant employment legislation.
Skills, Qualifications, Experience
- CIPD Level 5 is an advantage or studying towards
- Minimum 5 years HR generalist experience
- Proven knowledge of UK Employment legislation and practice
- First line advisory and strong administration experience
- Experience of working within a manufacturing or fast paced organisation in a HR role is desirable
- Competent user of Microsoft office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint)
- Experience of using Sage (payroll) and Time and Attendance System (MitreFinch) is an advantage
- Ability to communicate at to all levels, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail, highly organised and ability to multi-task
- Ability to remain confidential, discrete and professional at all times
- Ability to demonstrate commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Experience of working closely with onsite Recruitment Agencies is an advantage
- Some experience in processing payroll is an advantage
- Some experience in training is an advantage
- Some experience of using SharePoint and PowerBi is desirable
Key duties and responsibilities
A list of principal tasks that the job holder will be expected to do without exception as part of their normal duties:
- Act as first point of contact for all in all aspects of HR.
- Full management and development of a HR Assistant & HR Apprentice
- Ensure all appropriate policies, procedures and legal requirements are adhered to with clear audit trails
- Deliver high quality, consistent, compliant and clear employee relations advice to managers
- Offering advice, arranging and supporting in all investigations, disciplinary and grievance meetings in accordance with company policy, legislation and best practice.
- Provide managers with effective coaching and support where necessary in all aspects of HR
- Absence management – ensuring consistent and robust application of the attendance procedure and being proactive in managing absence in accordance with the absence management policy.
- Management of all long-term sickness cases
- Managing the recruitment processes from beginning to end in all recruitment for the company inclusive of all pre-employment checks (references, verification of right to work, health checks), inductions and probationary periods.
- Managing all performance management cases in accordance with Company policy.
- Managing all family friendly processes i.e., flexible working, maternity, paternity, parental, adoption etc.
- Maintaining all personnel records in accordance with GDPR
- Reporting of HR Management statistics such as absence, headcount, turnover, attrition etc.
- Processing of payroll for all staff from start to finish with the support of the HR Assistant/HR Apprentice.
- To support the Senior HR Manager on all HR process improvement projects and new initiatives being launched / implemented
- Being the super-user for the HR System and maintaining it and reporting from it.
- Make suggestions on policy and process improvements and support rollouts.
- Managing, maintaining, organizing and delivering of all training including Toolbox Talks (TBTs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food safety adherence training processes, H&S training requirements and all individual training requirements.
- Production, maintenance and delivery of the HR Toolbox talks.
- Production, maintenance and displaying of departmental KPI’s.
- Managing elements of facilities / H&S such as First Aid, Fire Marshalls, Lockers, PPE hiring etc.
- Carrying out all new starter onboarding processes including inductions from start to finish.
- Support the Senior HR Manager in Employee Forums / H&S Forums as and when required
- Support the Senior HR Manager in the Ethical Audits (i.e., SMETA Audit via SEDEX or any other equivalent audits)
- Working closely with Onsite Recruitment Agencies in terms of recruiting and staffing levels
- Auditing of all onsite Recruitment Agencies and working with the Senior HR Manager with onboarding new onsite agencies and writing/agreeing SLA
- To work closely with the Finance Team in any finance related matters and raising appropriate PO’s in a timely manner
- Working closely with the Senior HR Manager and the business in all COVID-19 actions
- To carry out all general administration as and when required.
- To cover reception duties in the HR Assistant / HR Apprentice’s absence
- To act as the HR Manager for the site in the Senior HR Manager’s absence
