Quality Assurance Technician

Job Ref: QA | Location: Lodge Farm, NN5 | Salary: £22,971 | Position: Permanent

 
  • To undertake all checks on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as defined on the QMS testing schedule in an accurate and timely manner

  • To ensure that the safety of TMI products is implemented, monitored and maintained throughout the factory

  • To effectively work and communicate with management team and production operatives to continuously improve standards

  • To attend production taste panel

  • To spend the 80% of the time per shift on the production areas

 

 

Skills, Qualifications, Experience  

  • Minimum 2-year experience in a food manufacturing company
  • Previous experience as a QA or similar role within the QA department
  • Good knowledge of the ISO 22000 and/or ISO 9001
  • Food Science degree or equivalent
  • A-can-do attitude, enthusiastic and ability to encourage the others and work as a team player
  • Be self-motivated and proactive
  • Ability to take responsibilities and find appropriate solutions on food safety issues
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint)
  • Flexible and adaptable in terms of shift pattern and absence coverage
  • Organised and ability to multi task.

Key duties and responsibilities  

A list of principal tasks that the job holder will be expected to do without exception as part of their normal duties:
  • Implementation of food safety standards and procedures
  • Ensuring that the standards laid down in the TMI QMS are being adhered to
  • Raising non-conformities, technical incidents and taking suitable and appropriate corrective actions
  • Collecting microbiological samples, water samples, environmental swabs and hand swabs as required
  • Registering samples with the requisite testing laboratory.
  • Collecting samples of finished products for the shift taste panel and facilitating it
  • To be enforcing the additional requirements of the products in “Intensive Care”
